Happy Dragon Boat Festival
As the early summer sun warms the earth, the reeds sway, and the air is filled with fragrance, we are about to usher in one of China's most vibrant and popular traditional festivals: the Dragon Boat Festival (端午节 - Duān wǔ Jié). This ancient festival is rich in tradition and legend, and is a time to honor ancestors, gather together, and promote unity.
This year's Dragon Boat Festival falls on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
At DS Packaging, we respect this cultural heritage and are pleased to announce our company's three-day holiday from May 31 to June 2, allowing employees to enjoy both a cultural celebration and a well-deserved break.

Dragon Boat Festival Knowledge: Why not say "Happy Dragon Boat Festival" but "Ankang"?
Reason 1: Origin and connotation of the festival
The Dragon Boat Festival was originally a summer festival to exorcise evil spirits and diseases. The ancients believed that May was an "evil month" with hot weather, breeding of mosquitoes and insects, and easy spread of epidemics. People used various customs to exorcise evil spirits, pray for blessings, and ensure safety, so "Ankang" can better reflect the connotation of this festival and people's expectations for health and safety.
Reason 2: Historical and cultural allusions
The Dragon Boat Festival is related to historical events such as Qu Yuan's suicide by drowning, and has a tragic color. In this context, saying "Ankang" is more solemn than "Happy", and can better express respect for historical figures and respect for the cultural connotation of traditional festivals.
Dragon Boat Festival Folk Customs: Dragon Boat Racing, Kite Flying.
It is said that after Qu Yuan drowned by drowning, the people rowed boats to search and rescue and disperse the fish, which gradually evolved into the custom of dragon boat racing. Before the dragon boat race, you must first invite the dragon and offer sacrifices to the gods. In southern China, children fly kites on the Dragon Boat Festival, which is called "letting go of disasters". They fly kites to let go of disasters and diseases and pray for peace and health.
