Pressure Test
Shake Test: Gently shake the can. If you hear a noticeable sloshing sound (such as a "swishing" sound), the seal may be loose, causing solvent evaporation or leakage.
Press Test: Gently press the can lid with your finger. If the lid easily sinks or rebounds, the seal is not tight.
Professional Testing Methods
For high-precision requirements, the following methods can be used:
Vacuum Test: Apply a vacuum and observe the pressure gauge. If the pressure drops too quickly, a leak is present.
Bubble Test: Immerse the can in water, pressurize it, and observe if bubbles escape. The location of the bubbles indicates the leak.
Precautions
If you notice paint clumping, separation, or an odor when opening the can, it may be due to a failed seal and deterioration.
Paint cans stored for long periods of time should be regularly inspected for deterioration and replaced if necessary.
