1. Raw material preparation
Tin material selection: Usually, tin with high purity is selected as the main raw material, and the purity is generally above 99% to ensure the chemical stability and corrosion resistance of Motor Oil Tin Can, and prevent the chemical components in the oil from reacting with the tank body and affecting the quality of the oil.
Preparation of auxiliary materials: According to production requirements, auxiliary materials such as welding materials and sealing materials are also required. For example, welding materials generally use tin alloy welding rods with good compatibility with tin and high welding strength; sealing materials are mostly rubber gaskets, etc., which are used to enhance the sealing of the tank mouth.
2. Tank body forming
Cutting: According to design requirements, the tin plate is cut into suitable sizes and shapes to meet the tank size and shape requirements of the Motor Oil Tin Can. The dimensional accuracy must be ensured during the cutting process, and the general error is controlled within ±1mm, providing a good foundation for subsequent processing procedures.
Stamping: Use stamping equipment to stamp the cut tin plate to form the initial shape of the tank body. The precision of the stamping die is crucial to the molding quality of the can body. The dimensional tolerance of the die is usually controlled within ±0.05mm to ensure the dimensional consistency and surface flatness of the can body.
Stretching: For some Motor Oil Tin Cans that require a specific depth or shape, a stretching process is also required. The stamped can body is further stretched through the stretching die to reach the required height and shape. During the stretching process, the stretching speed and stretching force should be controlled to avoid defects such as cracking or excessive thinning of the can body.
3. Can mouth processing
Crimping: The opening of the can body is crimped to form a certain curvature and thickness at the edge of the can mouth, so as to better cooperate with the can cover for sealing. The width and thickness of the crimping need to be precisely controlled according to the design requirements of the can cover. Generally, the crimping width is between 3-5mm and the thickness is between 0.5-1mm.
Thread processing (if necessary): The can mouth of some Motor Oil Tin Cans will be designed with a threaded structure to achieve the spiral sealing of the can cover. Thread processing can be done by mechanical cutting or rolling to ensure the accuracy and surface quality of the thread. The pitch and tooth angle of the thread must meet the relevant standards to ensure the close fit between the can cover and the can mouth.
4. Welding
Can body welding: Weld and connect the various parts of the can body, such as the joints of the can body, the connection between the can bottom and the can body, etc. The welding process generally uses methods such as soldering or laser welding. Soldering has the advantages of high welding strength and good sealing; laser welding has the characteristics of fast welding speed and good weld quality. During the welding process, the welding parameters such as welding current, voltage, welding speed, etc. must be strictly controlled to ensure the quality and strength of the weld. The weld should be uniform, free of pores, cracks and other defects.
Accessory welding: If there are other accessories on the oil tin can, such as handles, oil filling ports, etc., they must also be fixed to the can body by welding. The welding of these accessories must also ensure the welding quality to ensure that they will not loosen or fall off during use.
5. Surface treatment
Polishing: Polish the welded oil tin can to improve the surface finish and gloss of the can body. Polishing can be done by mechanical polishing or chemical polishing. Mechanical polishing can achieve better surface quality, but the efficiency is relatively low; chemical polishing is more efficient, but environmental protection issues need to be paid attention to. The surface roughness of the polished can body should be between Ra0.8-Ra1.6μm, making it more beautiful in appearance, and also convenient for cleaning and logo printing.
Passivation treatment: In order to further improve the corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of the tin can, the can body can be passivated. The passivation liquid is generally a solution containing chromate, nitrate and other components. A passivation film is formed on the surface of the can body by soaking or spraying. This passivation film can effectively prevent the external environment from corroding the can body and extend the service life of the engine oil tin can.
6. Sealing test
Air pressure test: After the engine oil tin can is sealed, it is filled with a certain pressure of gas, such as nitrogen or compressed air, and then placed in a water tank or using professional leak detection equipment to observe whether there are bubbles coming out of the can body to detect the sealing of the can body. The pressure of the air pressure test is generally determined according to the design requirements and use pressure of the tank, usually between 0.2-0.5MPa.
Vacuum test: The vacuum test method can also be used to draw the tank into a vacuum state, and then observe whether the tank is deformed or leaking. The vacuum degree is generally controlled between - 0.08MPa and - 0.1MPa. If the tank can maintain a certain period of time without leakage under the specified vacuum degree, it means that its sealing is good.
7. Printing and labeling
Ink selection: Select ink that meets the food packaging hygiene standards to ensure that the content of harmful substances in the ink meets the relevant regulations and will not affect the quality of the engine oil. At the same time, the ink should have good adhesion, wear resistance and corrosion resistance to ensure the clarity and durability of the printed logo.
Printing process: Use screen printing, offset printing or inkjet printing and other printing processes to print brand logos, product models, capacity, instructions for use, production date and other information on the surface of the engine oil tin can. During the printing process, attention should be paid to adjusting the printing parameters, such as printing pressure, printing speed, ink viscosity, etc., to ensure the printing quality. The printed pattern should be clear, complete, without fading or blurring.
