1. Using a Hygrometer

In industrial settings, real-time monitoring is necessary to ensure humidity fluctuations do not exceed ±5%.
2. Dew Point Test
When the ambient temperature approaches the dew point (condensation appears on the surface of the can), it indicates excessive humidity and requires adjustment.
II. Indirect Judgment Methods
1. Observation of Paint Film Condition
When humidity is too high (>70%), the paint film is prone to whitening and blistering; when humidity is too low (<30%), it dries too quickly, leading to cracking.
2. Solvent Evaporation Rate
If the solvent evaporates too slowly after spraying (e.g., not dry to the touch after 30 minutes), it may be due to excessive humidity; conversely, rapid evaporation indicates insufficient humidity.
III. Precautions
Different types of paint have different humidity requirements (e.g., nitrocellulose paint requires humidity <75%, latex paint <85%).
In high-humidity environments, a dehumidifier should be used; in low-humidity environments, a humidifier can be used to adjust the humidity.
