I. Environmental Control
1. Lowering the Temperature
Control the construction environment temperature between 5-15℃ (each 10℃ decrease in temperature slows the drying speed by approximately 50%).
Avoid using heating equipment such as infrared lamps or heat guns.
2. Increasing Humidity
Increase the humidity to over 80% using a humidifier or by placing water basins to slow down solvent evaporation.
II. Material and Process Adjustments
1. Choosing Slow-Drying Coatings
Use slow-drying paints such as alkyd paints, or reduce the amount of drying agents and curing agents added.
Avoid using formulations containing drying agents (such as cobalt and manganese metal salts).
2. Thick Coating Application
Increase the thickness of a single spray application to 0.2-0.3mm, reducing the number of thin layers applied.
III. Auxiliary Measures
Sealed Environment: Close doors and windows to reduce ventilation and lower air circulation speed.
Covering Protection: Immediately cover the painted surface with plastic film after spraying to isolate oxygen and slow down curing.
IV. Precautions
High humidity environments (>80%) may cause the paint surface to whiten; a balance between humidity and drying time needs to be considered.
In industrial settings, controlled drying can be achieved by adjusting the paint formulation (e.g., increasing plasticizers).
