1. Preparation
Before opening the tin can, place it on a stable and clean workbench to ensure that there are no debris or flammable items around it. At the same time, prepare the necessary tools, such as a can opener, scissors or pliers.
2. Check the can body
Carefully check the appearance of the tin can to see if there is any damage, deformation or rust. Pay special attention to the seal around the lid. If there is any abnormality, it may affect the safety of opening and the quality of the lubricant oil.
3. Use the right tools
If the tin can has a pull-ring opening, gently pull up the pull ring and slowly open the lid in the indicated direction. For tin cans without pull rings, you can use a can opener. Clamp the roller of the can opener to the edge of the tin can, then turn the can opener evenly with force to cut along the mouth of the can. When using a can opener, make sure your hands are stable to avoid the can opener slipping and injuring people due to uneven force. If there is no can opener, you can also carefully pry open the lid with scissors or pliers, but be careful to avoid damaging the can body and the seal of the lubricant oil.
4. Open slowly
When the lid is about to be fully opened, slow down to prevent the lubricant from splashing out due to sudden pressure changes. You can open a small gap first to let air into the can, and then fully open the lid after balancing the pressure.
5. Prevent splashing
If the viscosity of the lubricant is low or the pressure inside the can is high, it may splash out when opening. To prevent this, you can gently shake the tin can before opening it to evenly distribute the pressure inside the lubricant. At the same time, you can use a clean cloth or cardboard to cover the front of the can mouth when opening it to catch the lubricant that may splash out.
6. Properly handle the lid
After opening the lid, place it properly to prevent the lubricant on the lid from dirtying the surrounding environment or causing people to slip. If there is residual lubricant on the lid, wipe it clean with a cloth before handling it.
