Use a wire brush, sandpaper, or rust remover to remove surface rust, ensuring that the rusted areas are thoroughly clean.
Anti-Corrosion Coating:
Apply an anti-rust paint (such as epoxy paint or zinc-rich primer) or anti-corrosion coating to the cleaned surface to form a protective film.
If the steel pail has a surface treatment such as galvanizing or chrome plating, regularly inspect the coating integrity and recoat any damaged areas. 3. Storage and Environmental Management
Storage Environment:
Steel Pails should be stored in a dry, ventilated area free of corrosive gases (such as a warehouse or designated area in a workshop).
Avoid direct contact with corrosive substances such as acids, alkalis, and salts.
Stacking and Support:
When stacking, ensure stable support to prevent deformation of the drum.
When stacking, place non-slip mats (such as rubber mats) between each layer and control the stacking height (3 layers or less is recommended to avoid damage).

Transport Protection:
During transportation, use anti-vibration pads and tie-down straps to secure the drums to prevent collisions and crushing.
During long-distance transportation, cover with a rainproof cloth to prevent erosion.
Reuse Preparation:
If the drums are to be reused, they must be air-dried, rust-removed, and recoated with an anti-corrosion coating after cleaning to ensure they meet the cleaning and protection requirements for the new use.
6. Safety and Compliance Requirements
During maintenance, strictly adhere to safety operating procedures (such as wearing protective gloves and masks and using explosion-proof tools).
If the drums are used to transport hazardous materials, follow regulations such as the "Technical Requirements for Dangerous Goods Transport Packaging" and regularly test the drums for strength and sealing.
